Hello ELS families!
Winter break is here! I can’t believe 2018 is coming to an end and our next update will be in 2019! December has been action packed with many holiday festivities. I wanted to take the chance to thank all the wonderful ELS families. The students are lucky to have such loving and supporting families. Wishing you a cheerful and relaxing holidays!
This week was spirit week at Glen Grove. We have had a blast celebrating! Students enjoyed mismatch day on Monday, class twin day on Tuesday, pajama day on Wednesday, superhero day on Thursday, and holiday wear day on Friday. We also had two assemblies! Students and staff had fun singing songs at the Holiday Sing. One of our students even got picked up by the Glen Grove Gator. The whole school went wild! We had a visit from the amazing GBS Carolers. Many of them were former Glen Grove students!

This week we finished making our holiday gifts. I don’t want to give away the surprise! Students used their fingerprints to personalize one of the gifts and spent multiple weeks making the other gifts out of clay. I hope you enjoy their hard work!
The News-2-You theme this week was Remember 2018. The class talked about past news articles we have read and our favorite memories from 2018. Our favorite news article was about an injured turtle who uses a wheelchair made out of legos. The class agreed that our favorite memory as a class in 2018 was going to Wagner Farm. Students also had fun making 2018 shaped breadsticks during cooking.
Did you know we got a new class pet? Earlier this month, our class went to PetSmart on community. We picked out the cutest Betta fish and named him Tablet. The students love greeting him every morning and taking turns feeding him. The class loved meeting other animals at PetSmart as well. We met an adorable puppy that was visiting the store.
That’s a wrap! Enjoy two weeks of family time!
