Hello ELS families!
I can’t believe October is already over! Our class has loved observing the seasons change from summer to fall! We have spent a lot of time outside collecting leaves for classroom decorations and art projects. Fall seems to be a favorite time of year for many students and staff.
Cooking continues to be a popular weekly activity. We loved having guests join us from Ms. Peterson’s 4th grade class a few times. Some favorite recipes this month were snacktopuses (mini hot dogs cut to look like octopuses) and national trail mix.
Did you know that the art teacher, Ms. Hausman, has an Adapted Art class each week for the ELS class? You may have seen the beautiful wind chimes that were sent home. Students spent multiple weeks pressing leaves into clay and glazing to make a unique masterpiece. We also made giant octopuses to go with our New-2-You weekly theme, painted pumpkins, and made baseball pendants.
We have had a blast going on Community this month! We went to Wagner Farm not once, but TWICE! Each student picked out a special pumpkin to purchase during the first trip. Farmer Marcy helped us pick out gourds and mini pumpkins on our second trip. It was a lot of fun to see all the farm animals. We even met a friendly cat that followed us around. Our class also went on a scavenger hunt at Mariano's!
Check out some more pictures from our weekly Fun Friday activities and Halloween festivities.
Upcoming Events:
11/1: Community
11/6: No School for students
11/9: Picture Re-take Day
11/15: Community

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Best,
Hannah Lederman
